CarboVet is primarily composed of charcoal from the French Oak. This natural product also contains water, potassium chloride and sodium chloride (salt). The carbon molecules bind to toxic chemicals such as endotoxins (toxins excreted by pathogenic bacteria) and mycotoxins (fungal toxins), but not to antibiotics, minerals such as zink and magnesium, or vitamins. Each gram of CarboVet Gel offers a absorbant surface area of 180-220 m2.
CarboVet is manufactured using a unique heating process with temperatures of 550° to 600°C by a company in Switzerland with more than 60 year’s experience in the feed supplement sector. They have put this gel through a range of stringent tests.
Tests show that 100 percent of the most common mycotoxins are absorbed and excreted via the manure. These were aflatoxin, zearalenone, fumonisin and T2 toxin. Eighty percent of all deoxynivalenol (vomitoxin) was eliminated via the manure.
Treatment is simple: Via an oral dosing syringe or applicator gun type method the product is administered onto the animal’s tongue (approximately 1 ml per 2 kg bodyweight). The gel is tasteless, and will in itself not cause a reaction.
CarboVet® is manufactured using a unique heating process in which organic materials are heated to a temperature of between 550 and 600 °C. This process occurs in the complete absence of oxygen, carbon dioxide and steam. Within the organic material pore structures, unique to this process, are formed. These pores are 2 to in excess of 50 nm wide.
Especially for the large-scale consumer, we have made a package containing 6 x CarboVet 300 ml and 1 x CarboVet Applicator.
